If it involved water, then Roy Turner was there. Sailing, rowing, canoeing, scuba diving, surfing and wind surfing - he did them all. He taught one daughter to row and sail, and the other to surf, and then in the last few years taught his granson to row, sail and canoe.

St Denys Rowing and Sailing Club on the river Itchen was his second home in recent years - he was a member for well over 40 years, and had held the postion of both Club Captain and Trustee.
